Financial Contexts In My Project

In a small budget production you have to be very careful with your money as you can’t afford to lose money as the production budget is small and is unable to support loses in the production. This means that the production has to be good first time to minimises cost and the time that your taking. In a large budget production however you can be a bit more relaxed with money as the that you have is greatly increased. This means you have enough to have a few takes of the same thing as you can afford to do so. This means that the production quality of the bigger budget film is higher than that of the smaller budget. Also the equipment on the big budget film is likely to be higher quality than that on the smaller budget this is because the bigger budget would enable the film to use cranes and helicopters as these are expensive to rent and use. However in recent years the increase in availability of technology means that these films can now use these shots as these are much cheaper than the rent of a crane or helicopter.

The purpose of the Sheffield Promotional Video was to promote Sheffield in a positve light through the use of facts and attractive shots of the city. We asked to produce a short promotional film about Sheffield to promote the city’s culture and heritage. We did this by using the shot shots that we had taken of the city to produce an imformative and pursasive video to get people to visit Sheffield and increase the areas tourism.

Working on this project mean’t that the production quality of our video could be better as the small budget that we had meat that the we couldn’t use the highest quality equipment as the budget wouldn’t allow us to do this. Also the small budget meant that the production quilty of the film isnt as high as it would  have been with a larger production budget as the increased quality of the equipment would have ment that the the increase in quality would also the general quality of the video .
